Our Experience
We work with clients across the financial spectrum, including Capital Movers (e.g., asset managers, institutional investors, investment platforms, financial intermediaries, etc.), Idea Generators (e.g., research firms, non-profits, thinktanks, advocacy groups, etc.), and Solution Providers (e.g., B2B firms, professional services firms, data providers, social enterprises, etc.).
Our Services
Research & Analysis
We conduct deep quantitative and qualitative research on topics relevant to the ESG and impact investing space, such as investment trends, regulatory challenges, and evolving approaches to reporting and measurement. This research can then be used to inform content development, comment letters, media strategy, and/or general business strategy. Our research approach is fully flexible and customizable, ranging from interviewing experts in the field to reviewing and summarizing third-party studies and academic papers.
We also have expertise in designing survey questions aimed at institutional investors, asset managers, institutional allocators, or intermediaries, as well as analyzing survey data and offering key takeaways.
Media relations & strategy
We have extensive relationships with reporters covering business, finance, and impact investing. We leverage these relationships to help clients promote their announcements, thought leadership, or key spokespeople to their target audiences. As part of every media engagement, we will advise on overall strategy and track all activity via regular updates and reports. If needed, we can also help write and distribute press releases via a wire service.
For those new to the media, we offer in-person or remote media training sessions. These sessions cover the basics of how the media works, an overview of ground rules, tips on how to bridge and deflect, and best practices for building a long-term relationship. Each session also includes an opportunity to do a mock interview and obtain real-time feedback. These sessions typically take 2-3 hours and can be customized to include multiple team members.
Writing & Editing
We develop both long-form and short-form content for a variety of clients – asset managers, wealth managers, intermediaries, fintechs, law/compliance firms, think tanks, non-profits, and other B2B firms – across a range of technical topics (e.g., investment management, wealth management, banking, fintech, finreg, etc.). This content can take the form of op-eds, blog posts, whitepapers, speeches, website copy, case studies, and social media posts, depending on the needs and goals of each client.
Our content has been published in leading business and financial publications, such as: Bloomberg, CNBC.com, Forbes, FundFire, Harvard’s ALI Social Impact Review, ImpactAlpha, Pensions & Investments, Responsible Investor, The Hill, and many more.
digital strategy & execution
For clients interested in ramping up their engagement on social channels such as LinkedIn, we offer expertise in devising digital programs that typically include a social media calendar, suggested links and text to post and promote, and tracking of all engagement (e.g., clicks, likes, impressions, etc.). We also execute advertising campaigns on these platforms to help reach specific target audiences, increase brand awareness, and/or bring in leads.
Messaging & Branding
We help organizations tell their story through strategic messaging and branding. Our approach starts with an audit of all existing marketing materials (e.g., website, pitch deck, fact sheets, etc.) and interviews with internal leaders to gain insights into opportunities and challenges.
We also conduct competitive audits to analyze how a client performs versus its peers across a range of communications channels and platforms. This audit is then used to create a roadmap for how to integrate key messages into a client’s communications strategy, which may include: a new name/tagline for a business or service, an FAQ or core messaging document, and internal training sessions on how to use these messages with different target audiences.
KPI Tracking & REporting
A communications strategy wouldn’t be complete without the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) necessary to evaluate the strategy and pivot where necessary. We regularly produce marketing activity reports for clients that include KPIs for a range of communications channels and platforms, including a client’s website (e.g., site traffic, time on site, visitor demographics), LinkedIn page (e.g., # followers, % engagement), newsletter, (e.g., # subscribers, click rate, open rate), and advertising (e.g., # clicks, cost-per-click, cost per 1K impressions).
